France's EU Minister makes Robert Schuman annual report

“Without intervening in the Irish political debate, we are ready to make every possible effort to facilitate things and enable Ireland to ratify the treaty, which is essential for the entire EU.” So said the French secretary of state for European affairs, Bruno Le Maire at the presentation yesterday of the Robert Schuman Foundation’s annual report on the state of the union, as reported in the Irish Times, linked here. As the EU has already been informed that the means chosen to include the safeguards demanded by the Irish to try and secure a Yes to the grotesque Lisbon Treaty, namely by including them in the Accession Treaty for Croatia, are not legally viable, the translation of the statement above could best be: "The EU will stop at nothing (not even illegality ) to get the Lisbon Treaty ratified" Such mindless determination to force through such nonsense at any price highlights more clearly than ever, for the entire population of the EU, that as presently constructed it is a menace to the security and economic well-being of us all!
